Gare du Nord, Paris
Fine Art by artist Dan Homeres - Description: Charcoal sketch done while waiting for the train in the Gare du Nord, Paris. The color work finished when back home in Oregon. Includes brief historical note on the back.
Fine Art by artist Joan Pechanec - Description: This heavily-textured piece was inspired by several months I spent in Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. I was entranced by the medinas, particularly in Marrakesh, and the labyrinthian architecture, often miles of twisting cobbled paths where one could readily get completely lost. I imagined the secret lives in the lush courtyards beyond the heavy wooden doors and thick, crumbling walls.
Rue Mouffetard, Paris '19
Fine Art by artist Dan Homeres - Description: This is one of Paris's oldest and most historically interesting streets. It has been a major roadway since Roman times. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the street was called Grande Rue du Faubourg St.-Marcel, meaning "street of the suburb Saint-Marceau". Even now, many shops have ancient painted sings. Practically every building along this street has a story worth knowing.
