Abstract landscapes tend to develop on canvas with many of my paintings. For whatever reason in January, my mark-making and layering took a turn and this abstract floral developed. I guess it was my mind's way of saying I was ready for spring! I took this as a sign and created a complete series of floral paintings. The burst of color and energy in this first one continues to be my favorite. Oil and cold wax on cradled birch panel.
