Ray Massini is originally from the east coast but really found his home in 1997 when he first arrived in Oregon. Also spending time in Arizona
as well as a couple of years on the Big Island of Hawaii it's clear that he draws inspiration from the natural world he surrounds himself
As a self taught artist the body of Ray's work varies from botanical illustrations using pen & ink s...tippling techniques, figurative nudes in graphite and charcoal to large abstract paintings of acrylic, watercolor, alcohol and India inks. The watercolor paint that he chooses to work with is an Oregon product that's actually made from honey creating a smooth rich tone. Ray has shown his work in numerous galleries in Oregon and Hawaii.
Currently Ray lives on 50 acres in McMinnville Oregon with his partner and two dogs. They've converted a 40 foot shipping container into an art studio by cutting out most of the walls and installing floor to ceiling windows and doors.

It's Been a Great Day

Fine Art by artist Ray Massini - Description: Alcohol and India Ink on stretched canvas. Sealed with archival varnish and UV blockers. The wonderful story to this painting is that it was summer when I painted it and I was missing the beach. The painting ended up looking like Sea Glass...BUT a friend of ours was visiting and she looked at the painting and said "there are two people kissing in the top right corner" Now that is all I see when I look at this painting. It is truly one of my favorites..
