September 2019 in Bourges, France. This piece is a personal favorite of the artist.
Fred Vargas writes detective stories in and about Paris and the lead character is the famed Jean-Baptiste Adamsberg. On this occasion Adamsberg walks early morning in his home district of the Marais and finds his steps halted by a violet morning sky. He relates the scene to advice from his mammoth investigator and protector Violette Retancourt who had recently advised him to use the talents of his staff more. None of them may alone solve these crimes but each can contribute to the layer of solution.
I got to see the violet sky in Bourges on a solitary walk just at daybreak.
