The drop front desk is not a reproduction of any single desk, but presents details used in a few historical examples. These desks were also referred to as "field desks" and were quite popular with officers. One common theme in many desks was a secret hiding place built in. In this desk there are two behind the center drawers, known as the secret till. The writing surface on the door is deer leather that Terry acquired from an old leather jacket he had for over 40 years. Both pieces of furniture are made of ash that Terry collected on his the property and milled on site.
