The Burl wood was sourced from a local logging site in the forests of the Oregon Coastal Range by a logger who saw the potential for use of this "junk" wood. I was able to block out a couple of blanks and cure the wood for about 3 years before turning the form seen here. It is always challenging and sometimes rewarding to see what shape comes from the various pieces of wood. This was a joy to turn.
