This is a painting of a pair of Great Egrets from Coos Bay, Oregon. I was on my way home from photographing a Mountain Man Rendezvous in southern Oregon and decided to take the long way home via the coastline - I was in the mood for clam chowder and happened across a flock of great egrets on an inlet off of Coos Bay. They stood out so proudly against the dark reflecting waters. Although there were many egrets, I just had to capture that calm, regal and graceful pose of a single pair of egrets.
